Bardonecchia is a mountain resort in Piemonte, in the heart of the upper part of Val di Susa (just 90 Km from Turin with its international railway station and the line from Turin to Modane). It is easy to reach and is a resort which combines the charm of a small mountain village with the modern face of a city. In 2006 it hosted the Snowboard competitions of the Winter Olympics. The resort is geared up for tourists of all types with local restaurants, wine bars, pubs, pizzeria, discos, bars, a cinema and numerous sporting activities. There are also amusement arcades, music events, theatre and many other cultural and sporting events.
The Italian resort of Bardonecchia offers mainly intermediate skiing on its 140km of slopes. There are three main ski areas, two of which are lift-linked, and the runs are mainly wide open with great views, with a top elevation of 2,750m. Located on the French border, skiers in Bardonecchia also have the option of heading to both the ski areas of the Trois Vallees and the MIlky Way.

Activities off the slopes in the ski resort of Bardonecchia: For non skiers it's possible to visit Turin by train. There is a pool, cinema and indoor tennis available.
