This beautiful villa originally dates back to the 17th Century and would have been built by local land owners who would have employed local people to work on the land and in the farm, hence the name Padronale which means exactly the above. Build as you would expect of an Umbrian farmhouse with stone, chestnut beams, original fireplaces and other traditional Umbrian materials. Sitting on a hectare of land filled with olive groves, fruit and walnut trees the villa boasts stunning views over the tiber valley. Located close to the Tuscany/Umbria border in the area of Comunaglia the villa is an excellent base to visit many of the medieval historical towns that Umbria and Tuscany have to offer including Assisi, Gubbio, Cortona, Perugia, Siena, Montone, Deruta, Todi, Orvieto, Cittą di Castello, Umbertide, Sansepolcro and Anghiari. Padronale Apartment sleeps 2 - 4 people and is a beautiful, luxury, self-contained apartment for 2 or 4 guests, available for weekly rent on a self catering basis. There are two bedrooms, both en-suite, a large living room and spacious kitchen and features throughout are oak and chestnut beams and terracotta flooring, with a huge pietra serena fireplace in the living room. Guests have the use of the extensive gardens and olive grove and there is a terrace in the gardens with table, chairs and sun loungers for guests to enjoy. There is a table and chairs for dining and windows on both sides overlooking both the courtyard and the view across the valley. Terrace - opposite the front door of the apartment is a small terrace with chairs where guests can sit or take breakfast in the warmth of the Umbrian sun. Laundry - a laundry room is on the ground floor where there is a washing machine for guests' use. Gardens - There is a small olive grove and a variety of fruit trees in the extensive gardens surrounding Villa Bastiola. Guests are welcome to use the gardens as their own, including the panoramic terrace. Parking - There is plenty of room to park a car on the gravel area in front of the house.
