Just 5 minutes east from Amalfi you will find one the smallest but most preserved fishing villages on the Amalfi Coast. Its population of just 870 makes it the smallest community in all of Italy. It is located along the valley of the river Dragone, named so from the folklore tale of a firey dragon hiding between the sheer cliffs.

Beach facing houses are centered around the church of San Salvatore and marble fountain in the Piazza Umberto. and then reach up the mountain along the rocky mountains filled with gardens full of lemon trees and colourful flowered balconies.

The beauty of Atrani lies in its fairly small, peaceful stretch of sand, beautiful turquise sea and maze of lanes and houses that look like they are built on top of each other. This has resulted in the village being used many times as a set for films or commercials.

The village itself is not directly affected by road traffic and therefore noise pollution is quiet compared to its neighbours
