The land of the sirens, an evocative and elegant town with a cobbled shoreline and where the Amalfi Coast begins
At the tip of the Sorrento Peninsular stands Massa Lubrense, a municipality made up of a number of hamlets. This part of the coast is significantly more peaceful than Sorrento but still allows easy access to the town and many of the tours the Amalfi Coast can offer.
What to do - A great area for walkers, discovering places off the beaten path as there are several networks of trails which wind their way through olive and citrus groves across 30 hamlets, winding up to panoramic views of the Gulfs of Naples, the peak of which at Punta Campanella offers wonderful panoramic views of the island of Capri in front, Sorrento to the north east, Gulf of Salerno to the left and Gulf of Naples to the right.
Massa Lubrense is suitable for any kind of production, you will be able to taste sublime olive oil, fresh fruit, grapefruit, dairy products and cheeses
Beaches - there are two we highly recommend in this region. The San Montano beach is worth seeking out, with its crystal clear waters and has a part pier part stone, giving ample space for sunbathing. Marina della Lobra in the tiny fishing village is a pretty luster of homes with a protected harbour. A road leads to the beach but we recommend hiking down from Massa Lubrense amongst pathways that lead to the sea. There is also a restaurant & pizzeria available here.
It is great option for those looking to be close to the action but not in it.
