How to get to Le Marche?

Refine my search results

As Le Marche is in central Italy, it is very easily accessed from mainland europe by car, train, bus, ferry and by air. Whatever choice you make it will be worth the journey to this wonderful region.

By air

Le Marche is served by Ancona airport but it is also possible to access the region by neighbouring Abruzzo airport in Pescara or a drive up the coast to the airport in Rimini which is just over an hour away. Another alternatives are Bolgona Guglielmo Marconi airport, whilst Rome and Milan are both approximately 3 and half hours away.

By car

Arguably the best way to explore Le Marche as you will find many of the gorgeous towns and castle are not frequently accessed by public transport. You will pass endless vineyards, ruins, sunflower fields and breathtaking scenery so take the slow road and explore at a leisurely pace.

Buses & trains

As the region has yet to be discovered by mass tourism, it is really only viable to visit the most inportant towns using public transport. The 2 main rail routes are along the coast from Milan to Bari and across the country from Rome to Ancona. Visit the Trenitalia website for timetables

By ferry

The Port of Ancona is always full of huge Mediterranean cruise ships passing along the Adriatic Coast and with daily routes across to Croatia or Greece.
