Torre Canne is a beach resort with natural hot springs that attracts visitors for a reputation of having curative mineral-rich waters offering beauty remedies.
One of the few coastal towns that doesn't have a defensive castle or walls, just a lovely lighthouse that still stands sentinel over the sea to protect sailors. The town offers a quaint and laid-back atmosphere with beachfront restaurants and cafes and a smattering of shops.
The white beaches here are the main attraction - long, wide swaths of golden sand fronting the shallow pristine waters of the Puglian part of the Adriatic, surrounded by olive trees which slope down to the sea, which boasts both the 4 Sails (a prize given to the most beautiful beaches) of Legambiente (Italian environment protection association) and the Blue Flag. The clear and shallow water, with sandy sea bed, is perfect also for children's games.
Torre Canne is at the edge of the Valle d'Itria, and the whole area is lauded for its natural beauty. Aside from the sea and the hot springs, there are water sports as well as horseback riding available.
The most interesting towns of Puglia are closeby - Ostuni, Locorotondo and Martina Franca, to name a few. Torre Canne is located south of Monopoli, about half-way between Bari and Brinidisi. The countryside is speckled with olive groves and antique masserie, the fortified farmhouses peculiar to Puglia
