Villa Countryside - Attractive villa in Umbria with private pool

set in a quiet & peaceful position near the little village of Grutti & not far from the wonderful town of Todi

Villa Countryside is an attractive country house in Umbria, comfortably furnished in rustic style, surrounded by ancient oak trees in a splendid, quiet and panoramic position not far from the little village of Grutti, with a magnificent view of Todi, which is just a few kilometres away. It was recently built and has been constructed in the style typical of the old umbrian farmhouses: the external walls are in stone, and the interiors have wooden-beamed ceilings in chestnut wood, with floors in raw terracotta.

The villa is surrounded by grounds of over 10,000sqm, part of which has been made into a garden with a lawn and ornamental plants and fruit trees. In another part of the garden is a pergola with a wood-burning oven for barbecuing. A furnished sunbathing terrace leads from the pergola to the swimming-pool (10m x 5m) with its own lighting system for swimming during the summer nights under a fantastic starlit sky.

We had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We hired a Renault Espace from Rome aiport and arrived at 4.30p.m without any problems in finding the villa. The villa was beautiful with magnificent views and was very well equipped, our kids couldn’t wait to get into pool. We visited a number of places , notably Assisi which was amazing, the largest waterfalls in Italy east of Terni (which I can’t remember the name of!!) Todi was very interesting and we tried numerous local wines from vinyards which were excellent. The only downside was we only got to eat in the restaurant in Grutti once as it was closed all week due to the festival (the food was fantastic) We found the local supermarket in Grutti to be very good with very fresh locally produced food. The butchers shop was also very good when we had a barbeque one night. The weather was changeable with a few storms and rain showers but it didn’t stop us visiting places or spoil our enjoyment. Overall it was a brilliant holiday and would have no hesitation in recommending it to other people. Next time we are planning a holiday to Italy we would definitely book with yourselves again. Once again thank you for providing us with fantastic accommodation and will hopefully see you again soon in the not too distant future.
