The tourist resort of Porto San Paolo is famous for its connections to Tavolara Island as well as its many beautiful beaches and coves such as Punta Don Diego, Costa Corallina and Costa Dorata, which have made it one of the most popular tourist destinations in Sardinia. For sailing fans Porto San Paolo offers excellent opportunities for boating trips to Tavolara Island and Molara Island, and for diving enthusiasts the area provides all the services necessary for a fun-filled holiday. The protected natural marine area of Tavolara Punta Coda Cavallo is one of the seaside paradises well worth visiting and, every summer, the huge Spalmatore di Terra beach on Tavolara Island is the setting for one of Sardinia's most exciting events: the Tavolara Film Festival.
